RESCUE SAM defibrillator is the semi-automatic defibrillator created to support the operator during rescue maneuvers with simple and clear vocal information as well as with light indicators. Compact size, light weight, a real battery-powered laptop. RESCUE SAM is created to intervene in situations of Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) and Ventricular Tachycardia (VT).
METHOD OF USE: semi-automatic
WAVEFORM: BTE (Biphasic Truncated Exponential Wave); energy discharge controlled by impedance measurement
ENERGY: 200J fixed per new 2010 AHA guidelines – adult: 200J nominal into a 50 Ω impedance – infant/child: less than 50J nominal using pediatric electrodes
DISCHARGE ENERGY ACCURACY: in accordance with IEC EN60601-2-4
PROTOCOL: Voice indicators and light signals guide the user through the protocol
PACEMAKER: Artifact detection and removal
CHARGE CONTROL: automatic by software (arrhythmia detection system and charge control)
CHARGE TIME FROM DISCHARGE WARNING: less than 8 seconds with new battery
VOICE INSTRUCTIONS: detailed voice messages indicate to the operator the actions to be performed
CONTROLS: discharge button, info button, On/Off button
INDICATORS: LED (different colours), info button

DISARM: Once charged, it disarms if: – The patient's heart rhythm changes to become non-shockable, or – If the shock button is not pressed within 15 sec. from charging, or – The On/Off button is pressed turning the defibrillator off, or – Paddles are disconnected from the patient, or paddle connectors are disconnected from the machine
ENTER DISCHARGE: Discharge is performed if the discharge button is pressed while armed
