The Black Rubber Bumper Plates are entirely rubber discs, made for weightlifting (weightlifting, powerlifting, cross training) and therefore to resist the barbell falling to the ground (hence the name bumper = bumper). To guarantee a uniformly distributed support, as well as a fixed height of the bar from the floor, the Bumper Plates are all produced with the same external diameter, conventionally fixed at 45 cm by the various federal regulations. Due to its mechanical characteristics, synthetic rubber is the most suitable material for making this type of disc.
The rubber used is of the best quality, but important cost factors such as coloring and varnishing of logos and numbers have been eliminated. The high quality of the rubber, almost odourless, with an excellent elastic coefficient and good mechanical resistance, allows to obtain exceptional levels of duration despite the use of the ring.
The steel ring, placed to protect the hole, in fact represents the cheapest and most widespread constructive solution, but has the limitation of wearing the disc more in the central part.
A relative limit because the Black Rubber Bumper Plates brilliantly pass the tests over 20.000 falls.

Bumper Plate Choice Guide
I bumper discs (bumper = bumper) are discs made to limit the consequences of the support, or fall, of the loaded balance wheel on the ground. In fact, some weightlifting specialties include lifts in which the fall of the loaded barbell is an integral part of the exercise. For this reason i bumper discs I am completely made of rubber with metal inserts (plates or rings) to protect the central area where the barbell insertion hole is located.
From a construction point of view, the main nominal measurements: external diameter of the disc 450 mm, hole 50 mm, are defined by standard indicated by the IWF (International Weightlifting Federation). The diffusion of weightlifting in the athletic training and in functional fitness led to the production of different lines and models:
9040/1-9044/1 Black Rubber Bumper Plate
Composed of sizes 5, 10, 15, 20 Kg, exclusively in black colour. This line is made entirely of rubber (with a central steel ring) and was created with the aim of obtaining the best quality/price ratio. Being more elastic than polyurethane, rubber in fact guarantees a good level of shock absorption, but at the same time it is a material more subject to wear in the long term, especially in case of intensive use.
9040/3-9046/3 PU Bumper Plate - Color
Composed of the sizes 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 Kg, colors according to the IWF standard and white details. Being realized in polyurethane, this line of bumpers is highly performing and allows for high standards of resistance to be achieved. It is advisable to combine these discs with rocker arms with high performance and tensile strength values, as the greater rigidity of polyurethane compared to rubber guarantees greater durability, but also a greater degree of transmission of vibrations and shocks.
9040/4-9046/4 PU Bumper Plate - Black
Composed of the sizes 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 Kg, entirely colored in black with white details. Being realized in polyurethane, this line of bumpers is highly performing and allows for high standards of resistance to be achieved. It is advisable to combine these discs with rocker arms with high performance and tensile strength values, as the greater rigidity of polyurethane compared to rubber guarantees greater durability, but also a greater degree of transmission of vibrations and shocks.
9042/5-9046/5 Competition Rubber Bumper Plate
Series made up of sizes 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg, with colors according to the IWF standard. Despite being made with the same rubber as the Pro-Training series, the large central metal plate and the construction techniques adopted give this series the highest quality standards for discs dedicated to competitions, both in terms of performance and durability.
9036/6-9046/6 Powerlifting Plates
Aesthetically beautiful, calibrated, thin, extremely resistant, colored according to international standards, complete in size; 0,25, 0,5, 1,25, 2,5, 5; 10; 15; 20; 25 kg, these single-sided steel discs make up a special line dedicated to Powerlifting and characterized by precise technical and qualitative choices of a superior level.
