EVAGYM – Technical flooring in EVA (thickness 1 cm)

The EvaGym floor is a new product born in 2021 from the success of EVA tatamis and the need to have a technical flooring with high absorption but more practical than the EcoGym, made with an agglomeration of recycled rubber granules.

The differences between the EvaGym floor and the EcoGym

The EcoGym floor, available in the 1 cm versions (code 9201) and 2 cm (code 9202), is an extremely specific product, suitable for Crossfit ® and functional training characterized by the fall of the tools, "dropping", and the possible presence of sweat on the ground. The agglomeration of rubber granules is the best solution in contexts of this type. On the other hand, granular recycled rubber flooring is more difficult to clean, heavy to remove and put on and not entirely odorless.

EVA is instead a closed cell polymer, totally odorless, easy to clean, light, with excellent absorption qualities and an excellent degree of lift and stability. For areas dedicated to training, especially if training on the ground, where there is no systematic fall of equipment, which is instead accompanied to the ground, EvaGym is the right product.

The joints are precise, do not generate joints and are designed to facilitate laying, in such a way as to make installation quick and practical; which is very useful in cases where the multi-functionality of the rooms requires frequent movement of the tiles. The weight of 2 kg per tile makes moving operations even easier.

By definition and intrinsic characteristics, tatami mats must be used barefoot, or with footwear without soles, sharp parts and/or abrasive parts.

The material: EVA

The EVA used is the same as the tatami tiles, but EvaGym has a greater density and hardness, so much so that the 10 mm thick tile weighs 2 kg, like the 20 mm thick tatami tiles. On a practical level, the result is greater stability and a lower "jelly" effect, without prejudice to the high absorption qualities. Tatami is a softer and rubberier flooring, designed for martial arts, EvaGym is a soft flooring but designed for generic training, even with weights, and therefore more compact and stable.

Other characteristics:

• As for the tatami tiles, the EvaGym tiles are produced by moulding. During production, a silicone-based protective is used which makes the new tile slightly slippery. The use or cleaning with a degreaser eliminates this initial slipperiness.
• EVA is a closed-cell, elastic, dense, medium soft polymer with low load resistance.
  For example, placing a weight on it can become dented and if the support is prolonged over time, the dent can become permanent.
  The floor is not suitable for the reckless use of heavy and angular tools, such as clubs and hammers; objects that can mark and engrave the surface of the tiles. It is not suitable as a surface on which to place strength training or cardio machines.
  Use as a surface on which to place strength-training machines, racks, cardio machines is contraindicated.
  EvaGym is not trailerable, therefore the use of equipment with wheels is contraindicated.
