TECHNICAL FLOORING

We distinguish technical flooring on the basis of two production types:
1) New rubber and EVA, produced by molding, models: Outrace, EcoFit, EVAgym.
2) Recycled rubber, produced by agglomeration of granules, models: EcoGym.

Floors of the first type, produced by molding new rubber, have a higher production cost but have a number of important quality characteristics. The first feature is aesthetics. The tiles are extremely refined, with precise edges and joints and with a very wide range of colours, with different solutions with a high visual impact. The type of product also allows the insertion of colored graphic elements in such a way as to obtain markers, drawings, personalized logos, lasting over time; precisely because they are obtained from the insertion of rubber into the tiles and not from the overlapping of adhesive elements. The second important feature is given by compactness. The tiles produced by hot molding have a very dense rubber, therefore suitable for areas dedicated to bodyweight exercises and extremely suitable for rooms equipped with isotonic and cardio machines, tools that require high stability. Third feature is hygiene. The compactness of the rubber avoids the absorption of dirt, water and sweat, making surface cleaning easy and effective. Fourth feature the smellNew rubber is essentially odorless. Fifth characteristic reaction to fire; flame retardant additives make Cfl-s2 classification possible. Finally, sixth but not least characteristic, the durability. The density and compactness of the rubber ensure that the surface does not wear out and flake quickly due to use, also in function of the sliding of the wheels of the benches.

The floors of the second type, produced using an agglomeration of recycled rubber granules, have had a great diffusion thanks to the success of Crossfit® and functional training, due to some extremely characterizing technical specificities, to the point of subordinating any qualitative limit.

The rubber in these tiles does not form a single element but is granular, i.e. composed of grains of rubber pressed together and joined by the action of chemical binding agents. By increasing the size of the grains, tiles that are more grainy and more capable of absorbing energy are obtained. There great ability to absorb shock and resist snags/nicks from falling gear it is in fact the main feature of this type of flooring and the reason for its success in areas where free weights can fall to the ground. The second characteristic is that of being extremely non-slip. Being granular, even in the presence of a lot of liquid, the grip remains unaltered, which is ideal for areas dedicated to high-intensity training where athletes, by dispersing a lot of sweat, can create highly slippery and dangerous situations. Third feature the cost. The tiles produced using agglomerated recycled rubber granules have low production costs and this is also consistent with the function of resisting the fall of tools which can also lead to the need for replacements. In the end theaesthetics. As spartan flooring, an icon of areas dedicated to intense training, this type of tile has become suggestive and characterizing even on an aesthetic level, especially in the black colour.

In the face of these outstanding qualities, the floors in agglomerate of recycled rubber granules, however, have some limitations. Finishing first. The granular structure does not allow precise edges and joints and the creation of a wide range of colours. According to hygiene. The porous surface makes cleaning less easy. The third limitation is the smell. Recycled rubber, even if selected, is not as odorless as new but becomes odorless after a few weeks of installation. Fourth the reaction to fire with classification Efl. The fifth limit is durability. Absorbing shocks and being highly non-slip, they cause the surface to wear and flake more than non-granular tiles.

In order to reduce these limits Ecogym is made with a double layer, large granules below, for shock absorption, fine granules above, to reduce porosity.  A solution that makes the product incomparable to other similar floors as the level of finishing, puzzle joint, and hygiene, are absolutely superior. Hygiene also due to the fact that the tiles do not have edges with rounded corners, but the double-layer solution allows you to create sharp corners, thus avoiding large joints that collect dirt between the tiles. Finally, a careful selection of recycled rubber allows the odor of the tiles to be reduced to a minimum.

The platforms for weightlifting are made with this second type of rubber: Ecogym.

inspiration

To set up a training area there are several elements to consider: optimization of the space available, functionality, aesthetics and, obviously, cost. The possibilities in this sense are many and embrace the most varied areas, for each of which it is possible to configure an optimal solution. Fundamental components within these configurations are certainly the training structures (or racks), the technical flooring, the storage solutions and finally, the equipment.
