cork mat
The Cork Mat is a non-slip roll-up mat made by combining a layer of cork with a layer of TPE rubber. The rubber part, to be placed in contact with the floor, is purely non-slip, while the natural cork part facilitates sliding during position changes, while ensuring a good degree of grip and avoiding situations of excessive slipping due to perspiration. From this point of view, cork expresses one of its most outstanding qualities because the wetter it gets, the more the grip increases. The mat is therefore excellent in hot yoga and in all yoga styles, especially the more energetic and dynamic ones, in pilates and in general in all holistic disciplines.
The Cork Mat must be rolled dry, with the cork side facing out, to prevent premature deterioration. It should not be exposed to the sun for a long time or left in very hot places, for example in the car, as the cork-rubber coupling could be damaged.
The cork layer is thin and delicate, and must be used with care. It cannot be used with shoes, and in general for exercises which subject it to high stress.
Dimensions: 1750 x 610mm thickness 5mm.
Shoe soles are the enemy of floor mats, especially if you perform exercises that require high grip and therefore high friction and abrasion. The recommended models for this type of situation, which will always determine a high degree of wear, are the mats code. 3024, code3025, code 0400, code. 0400/1, code 0401. Models code are not recommended. 3016, specific for use without shoes, cod. 0407. The mats code 0403 code 0403/1 they are short models, created so that the shoes remain external. Therefore we must try to avoid, as much as possible, contact between the mat and the shoes to limit wear.
New line of cork tools
The solution is significant above all on an aesthetic level, because the cork manages to express the image of a natural, biocompatible raw material, in harmony with life. This appears extremely consistent with this type of tool, often used as accessories in holistic disciplines.
But there are also technical aspects which justify the creation of gymnastic equipment, to be used in contact with the body, with this natural element. Cork is structured through closed cells and has important qualities: non-toxic, hypoallergenic, odourless, waterproof, compact, resistant, light, long-lasting, elastic. It is no coincidence that the historic application of cork is that relating to the production of corks for wine bottles.
Il behavior of cork with respect to wet conditions, in our case with respect to perspiration, and the high waterproofing qualities are perhaps the most interesting aspects for our application, both in terms of hygiene and due to the fact that cork does not become slippery. The high grip is in fact an important quality for these tools, a quality that becomes essential in the case of the mat. The 3014 Cork Mat is exceptionally non-slip, indeed, the wetter it gets, the more the grip increases. Excellent thing in all holistic disciplines but especially in hot yoga.
