OLYMPIC BARBELL FOR POWERLIFTING – Professional barbell for heavy use
Atypical Olympic barbell with 32 mm diameter bar. It has been produced for over ten years and owes its longevity and success to the pleasure of use that athletes attribute to this barbell in Powerlifting exercises.
Squats, half squats, sumo squats, dead lifts, partial deadlifts, to name a few, can be performed with high loads and explosive movements. This is because the Powerlifting Barbell cod. 9015 guarantees high tensile strength, high stability, with relatively low production costs.
Stability is the first characteristic of the Powerligting Barbell, whose bending is significantly lower than that of an Olympic barbell with a 28 mm diameter bar. After all, greater flexibility is useful in Weightlifting exercises (jerk and jerk), where the progressiveness of the load and the ability to exploit the whip effect of the bar (barbell whips) are useful for performance purposes. The Powerlifting Olympic Bar cod. 9015 is therefore resistant and stable but a little "bad", in the sense that it clearly transmits the lifted load to the athlete.
Another important feature of the Powerlifting Barbell is given by the grip. The knurling is medium, with good grip, but it is the 32 mm diameter of the bar that plays a positive role, contrary to what one might think. The theoretically negative effect of the larger diameter is insignificant compared to the advantages. The 32 mm diameter in fact involves less pain on the palm of the hand and on every part of the body in support ("so-called barbell that cuts"), less twisting of the palm itself around the bar ("barbell that tears the calluses") and therefore overall a more comfortable and effective grip.
Stability of the barbell and above all a comfortably effective grip that is also felt in bench presses, or floor presses, where the Powerlifting Barbell cod. 9015 is preferred by some users to the standard barbells with a 28 or 29 mm diameter bar.
The Powerlifting Barbell cod. 9015 is equipped with a 20 cm long central knurling, useful for ensuring a greater grip of the bar on the back during back squats performed with high loads.

Great balance wheel. Tried many times especially for the squat. The diameter of the bar (32mm) is exactly that of a 25kg squat bar. Unless you have huge hands it's not ideal for the deadlift. No problem instead for the bench press. However, the indication of the tensile strength of only 70,000 psi is not clear to me.
It would be great if in the future they created the equivalent of the Ohio Power Bar which in America is now the standard in powerlifting but here in Europe it is too expensive.

Hi Hector, thank you for the review. The Tensile Strength value is lower than other Olympic barbell models that we have in our catalog due to the fact that the bar of this barbell is 32mm in diameter, and this greater thickness allows you to maintain excellent performance levels with a very affordable price.
