Rubber Wagon Wheel Bumper Plates

Lo deadlift: deadlift, is one of the most used exercises in the training field, together with the squatting. This is because it involves massive use of the posterior kinetic chain, and more specifically of a whole series of muscles:

  • Buttocks
  • Adductors
  • Spinal erectors
  • Quadriceps
  • Posterior thighs
  • Great dorsal
  • Trapezius
  • Rhomboids
  • Forearms

- deadlifts are played in many different sports, from powerlifting pure, up to athletic training in team and individual sports.

Critical aspects

However, this exercise is complex in its simplicity, and to perform it correctly without injuring yourself it is good to follow the learning steps and ensure a progressive and not sudden overload. This is because our body has to get used to maintaining a certain position under an increasing load and, if the latter is unmanageable, a probable injury will result. Some of the critical aspects of deadlifts are as follows:

  • Difficulty for newbies in the setup, often due to the too low start
  • The very low start facilitates the "leverage" with the erectors, increasing the risk of injury
  • Also due to the low start, subjects with long levers are disadvantaged in movement

Rack Pulls

Precisely to overcome these problems, and allow everyone to obtain the benefits of deadlifts, there is the exercise "rack pulls”, where the barbell does not start from the ground, but respectively from the safety locks of the rack.

 Benefits

This variant allows you to take advantage of a raised start, and therefore facilitate the movement of the take-off from the ground, as well as having the following benefits:

  • It allows you to overload the exercise more, promoting strength levels
  • Improve your deadlift sticking point, which occurs in the vicinity of the knee
  • It is a great variation to work more with the hip extensors (glutes) and hamstrings as the limited knee extension limits the involvement of the quadriceps

 disadvantages

  • Starting off the rack causes the barbell to touch and not the plates, which can result in a large loss of balance from bouncing and the bar moving on the safety locks
  • "Slamming" the barbell against the rack's safety locks can be very dangerous because, if the latter is not fixed to the ground, it can tip over on the user together with the barbell
  • The impact on the safeties occurs in the internal part of the balance wheel, which is not predisposed to these traumas, therefore damages the balance wheel and increases the risk of breakage with the risk of injury

Block Pulls

A very common variant in the field powerlifting and olympic, is to use special raised blocks. It is certainly a better solution than starting from the rack, however these blocks are very bulky and heavy, and therefore difficult to find in a gym or personal training center.

Furthermore, the fact of having to prepare the barbell, the discs and even the blocks leads the user to waste a lot of time just for the preparation of a single exercise, which can be frustrating.

Rubber Wagon Wheel Bumper Plates – 9040/30W

To overcome these problems, Sidea has designed new bumpers that with a diameter of 66cm, allow to work in complete safety starting from a raised position with respect to the sticks from the ground, without the dangerous disadvantages of the variant rack pulls and without having to waste time preparing the workstation in blocks.

In fact, unlike the "rack pulls", the discs touch the ground directly without causing damage to the barbell and eliminating the risk that the weight of the latter causes the rack to overturn. Compared to "block pulls", however, they allow a great saving of time and space, as no additional blocks are needed.

Some of the many benefits of Rubber Wagon Wheel Bumper Plates:

  • Ease in learning the deadlift off the ground and maintaining a neutral spine
  • Great for overloading deadlifts and improve the sticking point
  • Ease of loading and unloading of additional disks
  • They occupy the same space as classic bumper discs

Also, the fact that are made of rubber, and not in metal, it allows to cushion the impact more and avoid damaging the flooring, a fundamental factor for gyms and personal training studios.
