In the domain of Functional Training talking about power is almost inevitable. Numerous exercises characterized by a dynamics of a ballistic type, they imply the delivery of high levels of muscle strength in a very short time, expressing the so-called Explosive Force capable of generating high levels of power relative to the work performed.
We briefly recall that for Potenza means in fact that derived physical quantity which sees the work performed in relation to the time taken to carry it out, or in other terms, the rate at which force is applied during a given movement.
In Kettlebell training la Functional Power, i.e. the way in which Power is expressed during the execution of Functional movements, is predominantly expressed by a fundamental element of this domain of Functional Training: it "Hip snap"The Hip Snaps, as it is defined.
Lo Hip Snaps it is an essential movement, almost the main engine of most of the ballistic exercises performed with a Kettlebell. By Swing al Clean and progressing to the Snatch, that very rapid movement of retroposition and anteposition of the Pelvis, supplies the impulse, the Explosive force, Power needed to place the Kettlebell itself in countergravity movement according to a trajectory similar to an arc of a circle and variable on the basis of numerous parameters characterizing the exercises themselves.
The essential aspect that we want to emphasize here is the importance of carrying out this "Hip snap” in the most way fast and explosive as possible; the eccentric phase of the movement, the retroposition of the pelvis, immediately follows the concentric phase (the anteposition already mentioned) thus allowing the Athlete to take advantage of the stretching-shortening effect of the muscle fibers involved, the Myotatic reflex which is the basis ofPlyometric effect. The faster the inversion between the eccentric phase and the concentric phase will be, the more the Power expressed by the Athlete will be benefited by this physiological phenomenon of Muscle fibers, obtaining greater efficiency and the possibility of managing higher weight loads during the execution of the exercise itself.
Unfortunately, however, this essential movement is often interpreted by the athlete incorrectly, transforming the ballistic movement at the base of the exercises already listed, into a sort of front raise of the Kettlebell swung, causing a dysfunctional and potentially harmful overload of the Spine. Moreover, in the particular application of the Functional Training to the athletic training, training the expression of Explosive Force through the specific exercises of the kettlebell workout a notable transfer on certain technical sports gestures can be observed, even without reproducing movements modeling the gestures themselves.
This is because the expression of Explosive Force is the result of a significant involvement of the Nervous System as well as the Muscular Apparatus; by training Functional Power our System learns to recruit the muscle fibers more quickly and to activate the agonist, antagonist and synergistic muscle districts of the movement itself with greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Functional Power e Kettlebell training therefore, almost to create a essential combination with training effects of great interest both in the world of Sports Performance, both in the broader domain of Wellness: and Fitness, offering in addition to the advantages already presented, a significant systemic impact, which is fundamental both in body reconstruction (increase in Lean Mass or in muscle tissue, accompanied by a reduction in fat deposits), and in Metabolic Fitness.
Of course under the supervision of competent and prepared Trainers of which it is possible to verify the course of studies carried out and the professional skills acquired.
