Shoe soles are the enemy of mats, especially when performing exercises that require high grip and thus high friction and abrasion. The recommended models for this kind of situation, which will always result in a high degree of wear and tear, are code mats: 3024, 3025, 0400, 0400/1, 0401. We do not recommend model no. 3016, Specific for use without shoes, code 0407. The code mats 0403 e 0403/1 are short models, designed so that the shoes remain outside. Therefore, one must try to avoid contact between the mat and shoes as much as possible to limit wear. All mats are manufactured from polymers in a rubbery state. Elasticity and softness characterise the different models in various ways, hence the comfort and pleasantness to the touch. The soles of sports shoes are also made from rubbery materials but, due to their function; sports on concrete floors, asphalt, wood, etc., adopt much harder and more abrasive materials. Materials, solutions and thicknesses, unsuitable for making mats. Therefore, the soles of shoes are inevitably the enemy of mats, especially if one performs exercises that result in high grip and therefore high rubbing. Mountain climbing type exercises, for example, immediately ruin any mat if one does not take care to keep one's feet off the equipment. It is not a question of quality and it is not even a question of time, but mainly a question of materials and the way you use them. Any mat model will show breakage and premature wear if used with footwear and improperly.
