Sissy Squat - Roman chair. Commonly called the sissy squat, this machine is actually a Roman bench, or Roman chair squat. Sissy squat (Sisyphus, a mythological character depicted with huge thighs), on the other hand, identifies Vince Gironda's famous, but different, exercise. The Roman chair squat is back in vogue thanks to the spread of 'old school' and functional training. Training the quadriceps is not the only use of the tool, which is also effective for chain exercises dedicated to the core.
