9015/2 Competition Powerlift barbell 29 mm

Designed on the basis of the technical rules dictated by the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation), it is characterised by the high construction quality guaranteed by the materials, the treatments used and the type of processing. The bar, made of special steel, protected by chrome plating, has very high mechanical properties, achieving the highest tensile strength and hardness values in tests. The adapters (disc holder sleeves), protected by high-strength chrome plating (hard chrome), have disc stop collars of only 12 mm and rotate on the bar via 4 large bushings. The knurling, also present in the centre of the bar, is deep, volcano-shaped, 30° angled, with the markers positioned at 810 mm.

Construction solutions that are rather standardised among high-end powerlifting barbells, the characteristics of which leave little room for customisation by the manufacturer, who is bound by IPF technical rules and the mechanical properties of special steels that present imperceptible differences in stiffness and flexion values. With regard to bending, since the diameter of the bar (29 mm), the maximum length of the barbell (2204 mm) and the internal distance between the disc-carrying sleeves (1320 cm max; 1310 min) are regulated, in order to make a barbell as rigid as possible, it is inevitably necessary to keep to the 1310 mm minimum distance between the sleeves, and to have very thin disc stop collars (12 mm), in order to have the discs loaded on the barbell as close as possible to the athlete's grip point.

The sleeves are rotated by bushings, because they are better suited to the type of work a powerlifting barbell is subjected to. The same applies to knurling; for years, 'training competition' bars have been adopting medium-deep or deep knurling, with a volcano shape; the most suitable in guaranteeing the best compromise between high grip and not excessive tearing of the skin in daily use. The volcano shape also improves the action of the magnesite which, trapped in the 'crater', avoids the patina effect, thereby optimising grip.

Safety tests and production checks are very important. The user of a 9015/2 COMPETITION POWERLIFT BARBELL (Competition Powerlift barbell)
is probably an athlete capable of significant loads, after all the bar used has very high mechanical properties. Properties that represent absolute values but which alone do not guarantee the integrity of each individual bar. Hence the need to carry out CND (non-destructive) checks on all the barbells produced, in order to verify the absence of defects and cracks, cracks invisible to the eye that may be a prelude to breakage. Each barbell is thus subjected to a set of diagnostic practices carried out by an external company specialising in checks, which comes to our premises to certify each individual bar, on which, precisely for this reason, a marking code is stamped.
