OLYMPIC POWERLIFTING BALANCE BAR - Professional heavy-duty barbell
Atypical Olympic barbell with 32 mm bar diameter. It has been manufactured for over ten years and owes its longevity and success to the pleasure athletes attribute to using this barbell in powerlifting exercises.
Squats, half squats, sumo squats, dead lifts, partial deadlifts, to name a few, can be performed with high loads and explosive movements. This is because the Powerlifting Barbell code 9015 provides high tensile strength, high stability, and relatively low production costs.
Stability is the first characteristic of the Powerlifting Barbell, which flexes significantly less than an Olympic Barbell with a 28 mm diameter bar. On the other hand, greater flexibility is useful in weightlifting exercises (snatch and sprint), where the progressiveness of the load and the ability to exploit the bar's whipping effect (barbell whip) are useful for performance purposes. The Olympic Powerlifting Barbell code 9015 is therefore strong and stable, but a 'bit naughty' in the sense that it transmits the lifted load to the athlete sharply.
Another important feature of the Powerlifting bar is the grip. The knurling is medium, with good grip, but it is the 32 mm diameter of the bar that plays, contrary to what one might think, a positive role. The theoretically negative effect of the larger diameter is small compared to the advantages. In fact, the 32 mm diameter results in less pain on the palm of the hand and on every part of the body in support ('bar that cuts'), less twisting of the palm itself around the bar ('bar that tears calluses') and therefore overall a more comfortable and effective grip.
Stability of the barbell and, above all, a comfortably effective grip are also felt in bench presses, or floor presses, where the Powerlifting Barbell code 9015 is preferred by some users to standard barbell with a 28 or 29 mm bar diameter.
The Powerlifting Barbell code 9015 is equipped with a 20 cm long central knurl, which is useful to ensure a better grip of the bar on the back during back squats performed with high loads.
