HIP THRUST KIT - Bench and equipment set for performing the Hip Thrust exercise
The Hip Thrust Kit is a set that allows you to fully equip a station for the comfortable and safe performance of the Hip Thrust exercise. The kit includes a Hip Thrust Platform Bench code 9122a pair of Barbell Support code 9122/1, a Training 140 code 9014a Barbell Pad Hip Thrust code 9023/1 and a Hip Band code 0606.
The exercise
The Hip Thrust is an extraordinarily effective exercise in training the gluteal muscles, especially when combined with squats, deadlifts and lunges. Furthermore, when performed free-body, with a barbell, it is useful in exercising hip extension, a weak point in the functional movements of most people, including athletes.
It is, however, an exercise that can be uncomfortable because it involves a lot of preparation: barbell, discs, barbell padding, hip band if necessary, must be gathered near a flat bench, usually adapted to support the back.
Tools included in the kit:
Hip Thrust Platform Bench code 9122
The Hip Thrust Platform Bench is a simple and convenient solution for organising a dedicated free-body Hip Thrust workstation. The technical features adopted also facilitate the correct execution of the exercise. The fixed semi-cylindrical padding allows the user to position himself stably at a given height without making the frequent mistake of performing the thrust by taking advantage of the momentum resulting from throwing back the trunk, arching the back and rising excessively with the hip. The platform allows for correct positioning of the feet and the best stability, helping the user to concentrate on the retroversion and anteversion of the pelvis, on the short movement, on the 'squeeze', without distractions deriving from the instability of the supports. Six elastic hooks, which can be used with and without a barbell, handle and rubber wheels for easy movement, complete the equipment.
Barbell Support For Hip Thrust code 9122/1
The barbell supports (Barbell Support) 85 cm long, 30 cm high, are made of painted steel and have the special feature of being finished with a strong nylon edging with four grooves that prevent the barbell from slipping out freely. These features allow the barbell to rest and slide securely, making it easier to load the barbell (the discs do not touch the floor), to start the exercise (take-off from a position that is not unfavourable) and, importantly, for the user to enter and exit (simply slide the barbell horizontally to have the entire platform free).
Weightlifting/Powerlifting barbells
Training 140 barbell code 9014
Short, compact barbell, made using the same construction solutions as the Olympic barbells, but with extremely reduced dimensions in order to obtain a minimally bulky tool. Extremely useful for free exercises in a weight room or at home. Only 140 cm long, this Training Barbell has an internal space of 100 cm, with a marker at 81 cm, which allows for the widest possible range of uses: curls, rows, dead lifts, hip thrusts, even Olympic lifts, should space or weight reasons make it necessary to use a short barbell. The load adapters, which are 16.5 cm long, are not a limitation as they allow the insertion of plates well beyond the requirements of a barbell of this type.
Accessories for Barbells
Barbell Pad Hip Thrust code 9023/1
Double-thick barbell padding specially designed for this Hip Thrust exercise. In order to alleviate the pain of the barbell resting on the pubic area, standard pads designed for resting the bar on the upper back are not sufficient, but it is necessary to use larger and less soft pads. It is no coincidence that makeshift solutions are often seen: rolled up mats, pillows, pieces of rubber, etc. The Barbell Pad Hip Thrust is therefore characterised by a high padding thickness and the use of a high-density foam covered with robust PVC in order to obtain a firm, as well as padded, cushion which is therefore able to attenuate the high pressure of the barbell.
Elastic bands, Fit tube, Big Tubing
Hip Band code 0606
Durable, ring-stitched elastic fabric band with internal non-slip grommet.
Placed above the knees, it is used as a complementary tool in hip flexion and extension exercises, especially squats and hip thrusts, in order to achieve greater activation of the gluteus minimus and the tensor muscles of the fascia lata. Hence the name Hip Band. In addition, especially during the execution of squats with high overload, the use of an elastic band, placed above the knees, to be extended by pushing externally, helps the athlete to correct the recurring error of bringing the knees closer together, leading the legs to assume an incorrect X position.
