AEROBIC TRAINING ON STEP
The factors that affect the intensity of the exercise are frequency (step speed) and strength (step height): the higher the frequency, the higher the intensity. Similarly, the higher the step height, the greater the intensity.
By playing with these factors, it is possible to create a medium-intensity exercise with low stress on the ligaments that are usually caused by other high-intensity aerobic exercises, as cited by recent scientific studies.
To summarise these studies: the characteristics of step work have been assimilated at the level of stress on the ligaments equal to that of a road march, while on the other hand it has an aerobic benefit equal to that of a light jog of around 10-12Km/h.
This combination makes step training an excellent compromise that allows training at high heart rates while reducing stress or injury.
