Smart Racks are strength training units designed to take up less space than full-size power racks. They retain the key functions — squats, bench presses, pull-ups and suspension training — but take up fewer square metres. They are typically mounted on the wall or set up in freestanding configurations with a compact base, making them suitable for home gyms measuring 6–10 m² or dedicated corners in personal training studios.
-
It depends on the model. A wall-mounted pull-up bar requires a width of around 120 cm and a projection of 60–80 cm from the wall, plus the headroom required for pull-ups (minimum 220 cm). A Powerlifting Rack or a Standing Rack Pro takes up an area of around 1.5–2 m² on the floor. Always allow for a working space of at least 2 metres around the rack for squats and bench presses.
-
For most amateur and intermediate athletes, yes. Models such as the 9045 Powerlifting Rack can handle powerlifting loads with J-hooks and safety spotter bars. The limitation lies with extreme loads (over 300 kg) or when a closed cage with multiple pull-up stations is required. For commercial CrossFit boxes or high-level athletic training, consider full-size rack stations.
-
The load capacity varies by model. Structural racks such as the 9045 Powerlifting Rack and the Standing Rack Pro are designed to withstand powerlifting loads, typically 300–400 kg static on the J-hooks. Wall-mounted pull-up bars commonly support 150–200 kg of dynamic load. For exact figures, please refer to the individual product specifications or contact Sidea technical support for confirmation.
-
Yes. Installation must be carried out on brick, reinforced concrete or concrete walls. Plasterboard walls or lightweight partition walls are not suitable for the dynamic loads caused by pulling forces and kipping. Sidea provides guidance on the recommended chemical or mechanical anchors; for properties with walls of questionable structural integrity, we recommend a structural assessment prior to installation.
-
On the 110cm Pull-Up Bar and Multi-Grip Bar models, kipping is possible provided the bar is correctly mounted on a load-bearing wall using suitable wall plugs. For muscle-ups, there must be sufficient headroom above the bar (at least 40–50 cm). The Suspension Training Station 9094OD is also designed to accommodate dynamic suspension training movements.
-
The 9048/1A 110cm Pull-Up Bar features a single bar for standard grips (overhand, underhand and neutral with hands close together). The 9048/2 Multi-Grip Bar offers a multi-grip configuration with parallel, angled and wide grips, allowing you to vary the muscle engagement between the upper back, lower back, biceps and trapezius. The choice depends on the range of exercises you wish to include in your programme.
-
Yes. The Standing Rack Pro has a freestanding base — it doesn’t need to be fixed to the wall — so it can also be set up in rented premises where you can’t drill holes in the walls. It supports squats, bench presses and military presses with adjustable J-hooks and safety bars. It’s a typical solution for personal training studios that work with clients on a one-to-one basis or in small groups of 2–3 people.
-
The Olympic Bar Support Pro is a vertical rack for Olympic barbells. It can be positioned anywhere in the gym to perform exercises such as squats and bench presses, etc., and can then be moved and stored away easily using the transport wheels to free up workspace. Useful in home gyms or personal training studios to optimise space and speed up setup changes.
-
The Sidea Smart Racks are designed with 60x60 mm uprights, featuring standard holes. The 9095 Sidea series is fully compatible with J-hooks, spotters and accessories; compatibility with third-party accessories must be checked on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the pin diameter and the centre-to-centre distance between the holes. For extensions and spare parts, we recommend using the Sidea range to ensure a correct fit.
