A unique Hex Bar designed to offer maximum freedom of movement on all planes, with a special focus on the depth of lunges, squats and multiplanar movements. Thanks to the horizontal arrangement of the discs, the handles are extremely close to the floor, making loading and unloading weights quick and convenient.

The current model differs from the 2022 version - 9012/3v - in the chrome-plated disc holder sleeves, which allow integration with the Hamstring Bar 9012/3B and the adoption of the 9016/1 collars, indispensable in Jump Squats.

Low Hex Bar

The Low Hex Bar 9012/3 represents a significant evolution in the design of hexagonal barbells, developed to meet specific technical requirements that have emerged in physical training. Its design was filed by us at the end of 2021, following studies by FAST (Functional Alpine Ski Training), a training method dedicated to athletic preparation for Alpine skiing. The term 'functional' emphasises the effectiveness of global training, in which movements are not sectoralised, but motor skills are trained as a whole.

For this reason, exercises and equipment are designed to stimulate the neuromuscular, skeletal and joint systems, requiring good mobility and a solid movement culture for proper use.

Hex Bars are widely used in athletic training because, compared to traditional barbells, they offer ease of use (no supports or racks required), with significant advantages in terms of safety and convenience. The presence of the handles, the central load in relation to the body axis and greater freedom of movement contribute to easier exercise mechanics.

This is particularly beneficial for beginners, people with motor deficits or those undergoing post-traumatic rehabilitation, making it easier to perform squats and deadlifts.

With these assumptions in mind, the need arose to create a sui generis Quadra Bar that would allow maximum freedom of movement in all planes (sagittal, frontal, transverse), favouring deep lunges and squats, approaching the most common critical points (sticking points). A modification was therefore devised in the arrangement of the discs, placing them horizontally, to obtain a bar with handles very close to the floor, hence the name Low Hex Bar. This solution makes loading and unloading weights extremely practical, which is particularly useful in 'pyramid' exercises.

The adoption of an open structure, with the hexagon losing one side and becoming a half-moon, completes the transformation of the Hex Bar into this new tool, which retains only the initial idea of the hexagonal bar. Evolution is also confirmed by the use of anatomical rubberized handles which, while on the one hand improve the control and directionality of the tool during highly dynamic multiplanar exercises, on the other hand, due to their 45° position, make it more destabilising; a feature that implies continuous adaptations and a great proprioceptive effort.

Proprioceptive engagement is a key aspect of physical training, as it involves the neuromuscular system in the ability to perceive and control body position in space, improving balance, joint stability and motor coordination. High proprioceptive activation is essential to optimise movement control, both in static and dynamic, high-intensity exercises.

In sports practice, proprioceptive training with an appropriate overload is fundamental to maximising effectiveness. All too often we see unhelpful protocols in which the load is inadequate in relation to the power expressed in the target sport, reducing the transfer of neuromuscular adaptation to actual performance.

Well-calibrated proprioceptive training is crucial for preventing injuries and improving performance, especially in disciplines that require reactivity, dynamic stability and continuous adaptation to external stress, such as alpine skiing, basketball, football, and martial arts to name a few examples.

Tools such as the Low Hex Bar enhance this component, transforming each exercise not only into strength work, but into a powerful stimulus for the neuromuscular and articular system. Thanks to its configuration, the Low Hex Bar increases proprioceptive involvement, improving motor control capacity in conditions of controlled instability, a crucial aspect in optimising the transfer of trained skills to sports performance.

The 9012/3 Low Hex Bar is made from 50 mm diameter tubing and is entirely finished in a durable dark grey micaceous paint. The disc holder sleeves have a diameter of 50 mm and a length of 300 mm, offering ample loading possibilities and the possibility of using any type of disc with a 50 mm bore. The horizontal arrangement of the discs does not require the use of Bumper Plates; it is also possible to use discs with a smaller diameter, such as Fractional Plates, or coated discs, such as PU Plates or Rubber Plates, with considerable cost savings.

The Low Hex Bar is also equipped with sturdy rubber feet for a secure, slightly cushioned and quiet footing.

The current model differs from the 2022 version (code 9012/3v) by the chrome-plated disc holder sleeves, which allow integration with the Hamstring Bar 9012/3B and the adoption of the 9016/1 collars, indispensable in Jump Squats.

Combined with the Hamstring Bar 9012/3B and the 9016/1 collars, the Low Hex Bar transforms into a powerfully effective workstation designed to maximise physical training, improving stabilisation of the knee joint and strengthening of the posterior chain, as well as, of course, the anterior chain.

BARBELL SELECTION GUIDE

We produce a wide range of barbells that can be divided into three categories: Olympic, Hybrid, Specialised.

1- Olympians

Olympic weightlifting barbells, or weightlifting barbells, built to IWF standards.

Top of the range are the two PREMIUM models with chrome bars in black: 9015/4 MALE, 9015/5 FEMALE.These are barbells made of steel with high tensile values, which adopt the best construction solutions for snatch and sprint exercises and the associated falls on the platform.As with all our Olympic barbells, the knurling is medium, suitable for training, especially with regard to hand health. Two models called TRAINING complete the range: 9015/4C H-PERFORMANCE and 9015/8. These barbells are designed to achieve the best possible balance between usage requirements, construction quality and production costs. The 9015/4C is the model with the highest-performance steel and the same equipment inside the collars as the premium barbell. The 9015/8, on the other hand, is the model with lower performance characteristics, because bars with high tensile values and high production costs are not always required. For this reason, the data sheet of the barbell also shows the maximum loads per type of operation. The 9015/9 OLYMPIC CROSSFIT® BALANCE BAR: this is a barbell with high production costs because it is built for high repetition weightlifting, with a very high 'dropping stress' and with numerous solutions specifically designed for cross training.

2- Hybrids

In this category we find two barbells: 9015/3 BARBELL TRAINING 185 and 9014 BARBELL TRAINING 140.

These barbells have the main characteristics of Olympic barbells, from which they differ in their overall length: 185 and 140 cm precisely. These differences are useful in terms of size and training, as these barbells are high-performance and extremely versatile thanks to their shorter bar length.

3- Specialists

The category of specialised barbells is numerous in that each barbell is designed in response to specific technical training and usage requirements.

9015 OLYMPIC POWERLIFTING BARBELLborn in our gym, it is an atypical Olympic barbell with a bar diameter of 32 mm instead of the usual 29 mm.
9015/2 COMPETITION POWERLIFT BARBELL 29 mm: designed on the basis of the technical rules dictated by the IPF, it is characterised by its high build quality.
9015/7 BARBELL AXLE 50: barbell with a very large diameter handle, 51 mm, useful in athletic training programmes.
9014/1 LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM BARBELL e 9015/1 INTRODUCTORY LIGHT BARBELLThese are two lightweight barbells that are useful when learning weightlifting techniques; snatch and momentum. The first is a true technical light barbell, while the second is an economical solution that is also useful for having several barbells for group training and classes.

9011/1 SAFETY SQUAT BARBELL: a barbell with shoulder straps useful in circumventing certain joint mobility limitations that would impair the ability to perform squats. In terms of variation in training, it is worth noting how the high load control positively affects the versatility of the equipment, which lends itself to performing lunges, single leg exercises, bulgarian squats, step ups, etc.
8710-8745 Pre-loaded balances and 8610-8645 EZ preloaded berbellThese are two sets of 10-45 kg preloaded barbells, consisting of 10 barbells per set. A classic of physical culture because the preloaded barbells allow for maximum ease of use, especially in step sets, super sets and all similar techniques without breaks between exercise series.
9027/1 TRICEPS BARThis is an imaginative barbell, designed for training triceps, which offers the possibility of performing alternative holds to traditional barbells.
9012 Olympic Hex Bar, 9012/1 Super Hex Bar, 9012/2 Olympic Hex Bar Compact, 9012/3 Low Hex Bar, 9012/4 Open Hex Bar: these are different interpretations of the hexagonal bar, developed to meet different usage requirements. The 9012 Olympic Hex Bar is a classic hex bar, featuring 40 cm long loading sleeves, which are also suitable for wide-shouldered discs. The 9012/1 Super Hex Bar offers a more articulated configuration: in addition to the raised disc holders, which facilitate loading and unloading, it is equipped with a multi-diameter rotating grip. On the other hand, the 9012/2 Olympic Hex Bar Compact is a traditional hex bar in a more compact version, with sleeve lengths of 32 cm. The 9012/3 Low Hex Bar is a quadra bar sui generis, designed for specific athletic training and to guarantee a high degree of freedom of movement in all planes, with particular reference to the depth of lunges and squats. The discs are horizontally oriented. The 9012/4 Open Hex Bar, an evolution of its predecessor, is designed for a wider and more transversal use, with particular attention to compactness, practicality of use and operational versatility.
