8880 Dumbbell Rack: space-saving and practical to use
Horizontal handlebar racks generally feature two main mounting solutions: continuous supports, made using open rails or brackets, and individual moulded mounts, commonly known as “half-moons”.
The separate compartments assign each handlebar a pre-determined position and are designed to promote a tidy arrangement. However, they do not prevent handlebars from being stored in spaces that do not correspond to the correct size, and they have certain limitations when it comes to managing particularly large and varied sets of equipment.
The 8880 Dumbbell Rack falls into the first category. Sidea’s decision to opt for an open rail system stems primarily from its great practicality: the dumbbells can be stored, removed and slid into place with ease, allowing their arrangement to be adapted to the space actually occupied by each weight.
This flexibility is particularly important when the range of weights is very wide, as is the case with Sidea, which offers dumbbells ranging from 2 to 80 kg. The lighter weights, particularly when there are several pairs of the same weight, can result in a significant amount of unused space on racks with separate compartments. As the load increases, however, the dimensions of the dumbbells change: weights ranging, for example, from 30 to 50 kg may be more difficult to fit into pre-determined-size slots. Finally, for extra-heavy dumbbells, it is useful to have a rack that allows you to make use of the floor space beneath the lowest level as well.
The 8880 rubber-coated handlebar rack was developed in response to these needs and has been one of Sidea’s best-sellers for years. Sturdy and practical to use, it allows different sizes to be arranged according to their actual dimensions, optimising storage capacity and reducing the space required within the weights area.
Made from steel and finished with a durable anthracite grey micaceous paint finish, the rack incorporates specific design and safety features intended to protect both the user and the equipment: these minimise the risk of hands being crushed and limit impacts, friction and the resulting wear and tear on the dumbbells, even when they are stored incorrectly.
The structure is two-tiered, with two storage levels, each 2 m high: the upper level is horizontal, suitable for lighter dumbbells, whilst the lower level is sloped, designed for heavier weights. Positioned 37.5 cm above the floor, the lower level makes it easier to place and remove heavy dumbbells, whilst leaving the space below free for extra-heavy weights.
To combine the flexibility of the open rail system with the visual clarity of designated positions, Sidea has also developed the → Marker Dumbbell Rack R8880B1–R8880B80, optional accessories designed for the 8880 rack. ←
The markers can be applied and configured according to the specific set of dumbbells available in the gym, even if only on part of the rack. This makes it possible to maintain the space-saving benefits offered by the open rail system whilst, at the same time, providing users with clear guidance on the correct positioning of each dumbbell.
The Dumbbell Rack can hold approximately 12 pairs of dumbbells, corresponding, for example, to a complete set ranging from 4 to 26 kg, in 2-kg increments, of Hex Rubber Dumbbells or Black PU Rubber Dumbbells.
Dimensions: 2000 x 675 x 775h mm
Weight: 60 kg
Maximum load 1,000 kg
Standard colour: micaceous anthracite grey.
The shade may vary slightly between different production batches. These differences, which are due to the presence and distribution of the metallic particles typical of micaceous paint, are a characteristic of the finish and do not constitute a product defect.
