Is the HC004/2V base compatible with ergometers other than the Air Ski?

No. This platform is designed exclusively for the HC004 Air Ski. The attachment points and dimensions are not compatible with the HC001 Curve Run, HC002 Air Bike, HC003 Air Row or ergometers from other manufacturers. Please check the model code HC004 on the machine’s nameplate before purchasing.

What sort of cosmetic flaw does the Outlet version have?

The defect may be a deep scratch on the paintwork, a dent in the metal frame or signs of wear caused by transport or storage. It does not compromise the structural integrity, stability or flatness of the base, nor does it affect the proper functioning of the wheels. The load capacity and compatibility with HC004 remain unaffected.

Can the wheels support the combined weight of the platform and the Air Ski whilst moving?

Yes. The built-in wheels can support the weight of the platform (18 kg) plus the weight of the mounted HC004 Air Ski (approximately 32 kg, making a total of ~50 kg). They are designed to roll smoothly over technical rubber flooring, linoleum or tiles without damaging the surface. They are not swivel wheels: to move the board, you need to lift one end slightly.

Does the platform need to be fixed to the floor?

No. The HC004/2V base is freestanding. Its stability comes from its own weight (18 kg) and the geometry of its structure. There is no need to drill into the floor or secure it with wall plugs. This feature is useful in rented accommodation, shared spaces or where the raised access floor must not be damaged.

Can I use the HC004 Air Ski without this platform?

Yes. The Air Ski can be used either standing directly on the floor or mounted on the wall using specialised brackets (sold separately). The HC004/2V platform is useful when frequent repositioning is required, when wall mounting is not possible, or when you want a freestanding unit that can be placed in the centre of the room.

Does the stand take up more space than the wall-mounted Air Ski?

Yes. A wall-mounted configuration using brackets takes up only the front footprint of the ergometer. The freestanding platform adds the depth and width of the base itself (dimensions not specified in the current specification sheet). Assess the available space: in narrow rooms with fixed ergometers, wall-mounted installation may be more efficient.

Does the board come with the HC004 Air Ski included?

No. This listing is for the HC004/2V base ONLY. The HC004 Air Ski ergometer must be purchased separately. Please check the compatibility of your HC004 model before ordering: some Air Ski kits already include the footplate, whilst others do not.

In which operational contexts is a mobile base more useful than a fixed anchor?

Mobility is an advantage in CrossFit boxes with layouts that vary between cardio and strength WODs, commercial gyms that move ergometers between group activity rooms and the cardio zone, sports coaches who set up temporary stations in school gyms, and home gyms in shared garages where equipment needs to be stored on the wall after use. If the Air Ski remains in the same spot for weeks at a time, wall mounting may be the more cost-effective option.
