What length of climbing rope should I choose for my gym?

The choice depends on the ceiling height and the type of training. The 4-metre rope (item no. 1204) is suitable for ceilings up to 3.5 metres or for horizontal pull-up exercises. The 5-metre version (code 1205) is suitable for standard ceiling heights in professional gyms of up to 4.5 metres. The 6-metre rope (code 1206) is suitable for CrossFit boxes or gyms with ceiling heights exceeding 5 metres, allowing for full-length climbs.

Does jute rope require any special maintenance?

Natural jute rope does not require any specific treatment. It is advisable to inspect the covered ends and the top anchor periodically to check for wear and tear. Avoid prolonged exposure to high humidity, as this can accelerate the deterioration of the natural fibres. If the rope becomes dirty, clean it with a dry cloth, avoiding harsh detergents.

Is the 34mm diameter suitable for all types of grip?

The 34mm diameter is standard for fitness climbing ropes, offering a balance between a secure grip and fatigue. It is suitable for both beginners and advanced athletes. Smaller diameters require greater grip strength and quickly tire the forearms, whilst larger diameters may be too wide for small hands.

How do you fit a climbing rope correctly?

The rope is supplied complete with a thimble and a metal ring for the top anchor point. Installation requires a ceiling fixing point certified for dynamic loads (minimum recommended load: 500 kg). Use a compliant carabiner or hook; never attach directly to uncertified wooden beams. The covered ends ensure a secure finish that prevents fraying.

Is this rope compatible with Sidea racks for functional training?

Yes, the climbing rope is compatible with all Sidea structures fitted with upper crossbars or certified anchor points. It is particularly suitable for the All-In-One series racks and the Outrace modular structures. Check that the chosen attachment point is positioned at a suitable distance from walls or other equipment to ensure there is sufficient clearance whilst climbing.

What exercises can you do with a climbing rope?

As well as traditional vertical climbing, the rope can be used for horizontal pulling exercises when secured low, dead hangs to develop grip strength, hanging L-sits, leg raises, and variations of rope climbs using a combination of techniques or just the arms. It can also be used for core stabilisation exercises and as an anchor point for flying or suspension training.

Is jute rope more suitable than synthetic materials?

Natural jute offers superior grip compared to synthetic materials, even when hands are sweaty, and is traditionally preferred in sporting and military contexts. It has a higher coefficient of friction, which promotes correct technique. The disadvantages include greater weight and lower resistance to the elements; it is therefore recommended for indoor use.

Is it possible to use several ropes side by side for group training sessions?

Yes, installing several ropes side by side is a common setup in professional gyms and CrossFit boxes for group sessions or competitions. Maintain a minimum distance of 120 cm between the ropes to avoid interference whilst climbing. Ensure that the supporting structure is strong enough to bear the combined weight of several athletes at the same time.

What instalment payment options are available?
