Who is technical flooring suitable for?

In these contexts, 2 cm of agglomerated recycled rubber (EcoGym 2 cm) is the minimum recommended thickness.
CrossFit boxes and strength training areas involve daily work with heavy loads and dynamic movements. Recycled rubber with straight-edge or interlocking tiles allows large areas to be covered in a modular way, without any joints that shift underfoot.
A PT studio or training area has different requirements: softer surfaces, comfort when on the floor, and ease of cleaning. Expanded EVA (EvaGym) with a thickness of 1 cm is best suited to these settings, where people often train barefoot or in lightweight footwear.
For anyone setting up a home gym or a garage gym – the choice depends on the type of exercise you do most. Those who do barbell lifting need mats that are thick and dense; those who mainly do bodyweight or kettlebell exercises can opt for thinner, lighter mats that are easier to move around.
How to choose technical flooring
The first parameter to be defined is the expected mechanical load. Agglomerated recycled rubber flooring (EcoGym) is designed to absorb significant impacts: the 2 cm-thick Class B version is suitable for areas where equipment may fall directly onto the floor. The 1 cm and 5 mm versions, on the other hand, serve as a protective layer for the underlying floor in areas with moderate footfall.
The second aspect concerns the layout of the space. The new moulded rubber (Outrace, Ecofit) offers a more compact and uniform surface, which is less porous than agglomerated rubber, and provides better grip for weightlifting boots. The 5 mm Outrace Marker Flooring incorporates graphic markings directly into the material, which is useful for defining lanes or operational zones without having to add adhesive tape to the floor.
