ECOGYM 1 cm EDGE - Technical flooring made of double-layer recycled rubber
The Ecogym 1 cm is a double-layer technical flooring suitable for areas where functional training is practised and where it may be necessary to cushion the possible fall of free weights, such as kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, etc.
- High shock-absorbing capacity
- High levels of grip, stability, comfort
- Exceptional mechanical strength; not subject to incisions and cuts
EcoGym: recycled rubber granules
The main characteristic of the flooring is the production by agglomeration of recycled rubber granules. The ability to absorb shocks, at a low cost, are the product's distinguishing features. The first quality is guaranteed by the granular composition, the second by the use of recycled rubber. The shock-absorbing capacity must, however, be correctly dimensioned if the flooring is laid as protection for an existing floor. A few millimetres of rubber cannot completely absorb every type of shock. The force resulting from the fall of a barbell loaded with tens of kilos will always be partly transferred to the floor underneath.
Double layer: above fine granules, below coarse granules
The coupling of a layer made up of agglomerates of coarse granules with a layer made up of finer granules makes it possible to reconcile the need for maximum shock-absorption capacity with the need to be able to train on a smooth, compact surface that is less prone to crumbling and dirt pick-up.

Compared to normal recycled rubber flooring, EcoGym does not release high rubber residues from use.
Jigsaw interlocking: easy-to-install tiles without joints
Among the various solutions, we recommend the jigsaw puzzle tiles in 10 mm thickness. In addition to the best value for money, i.e. price and protective capacity, they are easy to assemble and trim with a cutter.
The precision of the jigsaw joint holds the tiles together, also allowing for the effective creation of rubberized islands. The absence of deviations, typical of normal straight-edged tiles, often characterised by bevelled edges, reduces the presence of joints; a receptacle for dirt.
Other EcoGym features
EcoGym is produced without the use of dangerous substances ref. CEE 76/769 and without the use of adhesives containing formaldehyde ref. EN 717/1.
The tiles measure 980 x 980 mm, the interlocking installation and the trimming of the joints result in a small dimensional loss. As an indication, to calculate the number of tiles required, 20% can be added to the sqm of the area: e.g. 30 sqm + 20% = 36 tiles.
As far as cleaning is concerned, it is sufficient to vacuum and then wash the floor with water and detergent in minimal quantities. White deposits or footprints may occur due to the close presence of dusty areas. In these cases, scrubbing brushes with a built-in sponge are useful. For areas larger than 150 m2 we recommend the use of floor washers with rotating brushes that can wash and collect dirty water.
WARNING: due to the production processes used, these tiles may show variations in reflectivity, this means that the shade of black is the same, but if looked at from certain particular angles where there are reflections these may look different from each other.
