Simona Galassi analyses the StrikeBack 2107: the bag for metabolic and functional training

Simona Galassi, Italian boxing icon, world champion and now athletic trainer and functional training teacher, tested for us the new reactive floor bag by Sidea. Her verdict? Technical, analytical and oriented towards real use in the field.

"I am familiar with Sidea equipment, especially the functional equipment. The design of a new, dynamic and responsive boxing machine immediately intrigued me."

A reactive and mobile sack: the heart of neuromotor training

The StrikeBack 2107 is no ordinary floor bag: its distinguishing feature is its dynamic response to the blow. Thanks to its rounded weighted base, the bag swings a lot, returns and stimulates the athlete to work on reflexes, coordination and speed.

"The feeling is that of a mobile opponent: it forces you to dodge, to move laterally, to come back in the right time. It is excellent for neuromotor training. The swinging game inherent in its structure has some positive aspects: the dynamism of the work that can combine the offensive action with all the movements of lateral and circular dodges in addition to the classic footwork of approaching movements on the attack shot, pivots and lateral or return exits..."

Ideal for functional conditioning, metabolic fitness, reactive cardio training and partly for boxing and MMA.

High-intensity metabolic training: a tool that stimulates body and mind

StrikeBack was created for those seeking an effective, engaging and fun metabolic workout. Its rhythm is dictated by the response of the bag itself, which requires constant control of the body and technique.

"It's not just boxing. It is a global workout: you activate the core, manage the distance, dose the intensity and work in flow. Perfect for complete, technical conditioning." Similar to a stretched ball (double-end ball), but in maxi format, this floor bag forces active recovery time and also stimulates decision-making and precision of gesture.

Trainers, trainers and home gyms: who is StrikeBack designed for?

'It is an educational and stimulating tool. Limitedly useful for boxers, particularly suitable for athletic trainers and functional training enthusiasts. In the gym or at home."

✔️ Ready to use, no filling required
✔️ Suitable for rooms with delicate flooring (tatami, parquet)
✔️ Easy to move thanks to integrated handles
✔️ Smallest footprint, maximum technical performance

StrikeBack 2107 is a versatile piece of equipment for: personal training studios, functional & combat fitness rooms, home gyms with limited space, motor rehabilitation programmes or dynamic postural training.

Technical considerations: advantages and limitations

Like any tool, the StrikeBack has its strengths and limitations.

✅ Strong points:

  • StrikeBack invites action; its movement 'urges you to box'...
  • extraordinary dynamic response and strong athletic stimulation
  • continuous activation of the nervous and cardiovascular systems
  • also suitable for spaces that cannot be equipped with traditional hanging bags
  • coated base; the bag can also be used on mats and delicate floors
  • Double handle with sewn-in handles for quick and easy movement.

⛔ Limits:

  • not ideal for choreographic pair work on a musical basis (e.g. Fit Boxing)
  • high swing, can be challenging for beginners, especially in finding distance and time. Some adaptation is needed, but the potential is
  • high swing 2. The swing may become excessive when the speed and precision work is interrupted, to switch, even temporarily, to powerful, lunging strikes. In these cases, the high swing, which pushes the bag until it touches the floor, with an inevitable slow return, can break the rhythm and excessively slow down the action sequence, compromising the fluidity of the training.
  • For construction reasons, related to the relationship with the swinging base, which is heavy but manageable in movement, the bag is 165 cm high. This is not a large measurement, especially for people over 190 cm tall with a hypothetical front hit height of 150 cm.
