beaded jump rope2703 Control Jump Rope Ø 5 mm
For jumping rope, Sidea offers two models made of PVC-coated steel wire cable:
- 2703 Control Jump Rope Ø 5 mm
- 2708 Premium Speed Jump Rope Ø 2.5 mm
The two ropes meet different technical requirements. The main difference concerns the diameter of the cable, but the structure of the handles, the smoothness of the rotation and the type of use for which each model was developed also play a role.
The 2703 Control Jump Rope Ø 5 mm is a highly controlled jump rope designed to offer a smooth, stable and easily manageable rotation. Its objective is not to exaggerate speed, but to allow the user to clearly perceive the movement of the rope and maintain a constant rhythm during the exercise.
The PVC-coated cable, with a diameter of 5 mm, promotes a clearer reading of the rotation. The user can better follow the passage of the rope, co-ordinate the jump with greater precision and more easily correct any technical errors. This is particularly important in the early stages of learning, when it is necessary to build up a regular cadence and acquire the correct timing between wrist movement, body posture and foot placement.
The 2703 is therefore a particularly suitable string for those who wish to improve their technique in a progressive manner. It helps to maintain a controlled rotation, to avoid involuntary accelerations and to make the synchronisation of the gesture more natural. For this reason it is suitable for beginners, but should not be considered a “basic” string in a reductive sense: the coated steel cable still allows it to reach high speeds, making it usable also by intermediate and advanced athletes.
The increased control of rotation makes the 2703 ideal for cardio and conditioning training, warm-up, coordination, foot speed, physical preparation for specific sports and technical progression. It is a transversal rope, suitable for frequent and continuous use, both in fitness and athletic training.
From a technical point of view, the 2703 encourages learning the correct basics of jumping rope: a stable torso, elbows close to the body, rotation generated predominantly by the wrists, low jumping and quick stances. These elements are fundamental for improving efficiency, continuity and control of movement, before moving on to faster exercises or ropes specifically geared towards maximum speed.
Due to these characteristics, the 2703 Control Jump Rope Ø 5 mm is suitable for:
- beginners who wish to learn the technique correctly;
- cardio and conditioning workouts;
- general warm-up and physical preparation;
- coordination and quickness of the feet;
- technical work for combat sports, racquet sports, team sports and functional disciplines;
- progression towards more complex and high-frequency exercises.
The 2703 is probably the most versatile choice: it offers control, continuity and ease of use, without sacrificing the responsiveness guaranteed by the coated steel cable.
Control Jump Rope 2703 and Premium Speed Rope 2708: two different functions
The difference between 2703 Control Jump Rope Ø 5 mm and 2708 Premium Speed Jump Rope Ø 2.5 mm is not simply a difference in diameter. They are two distinct technical approaches.
The 2703 Control Jump Rope emphasises control, rotation perception and technical progression. It is the best choice for learning, improving coordination, continuous training and building a solid base.
The 2708 Premium Speed Jump Rope emphasises speed, reactivity and performance. It is suitable for those who already have good technique and want to work on fast, intense and high-frequency exercises.
Both belong to the jump ropes family, but meet different needs:
control and technical progression with the 2703; speed and performance with the 2708.
Why Sidea did not choose beaded strings
Beaded ropes, constructed with segments or beads along the cable, are often proposed as beginner ropes because they are slow, visible and easy to feel during rotation.

After several tests, Sidea chose not to develop this solution. While beaded strings are aesthetically interesting and offer a very readable rotation, they tend to be excessively slow and unsuitable for real technical progression. Their behaviour is closer to that of heavy or strongly slowed strings, reducing the fluidity of the gesture and limiting the transition towards faster and more efficient execution.
The choice of Sidea was therefore to develop a control rope with a 5 mm diameter coated steel cable: a more technical solution, more evolutionary and more consistent with a progressive learning path. The 2703 offers control and ease of use, but maintains a sufficiently reactive structure to accompany the user beyond the initial phase.
