BALANCE PAD
This small EVA platform is part of the so-called unstable bases, for exercises in proprioception, coordination, strength, etc., (see also Bump Disc cod.3001 and the like) The product's special feature derives from the softness and non-deformability properties of the EVA material, which has an extremely regular elastic coefficient.
Dimensions 394 x 480 mm, height 57 mm, weight 0.9 kg
The Eva mat paves the way for many destabilising exercises, providing a support that offers soft, gentle resistance that does not cause tendon stress.
The balance pad can be regarded as a wise middle ground between a stable surface, such as the floor, and an excessively unstable one, such as the Freeman board. This paves the way for a great many exercises that require the non-strenuous maintenance of balance, which favour the improvement of neuromuscular transmission.
The fields of application are many: from functional recovery to toning to Pilates, providing many variations of conventional exercise.
Let's think of a simple abdominal crunch: if performed while sitting on the Balance Pad, the deep muscle fibres are activated more, causing a more demanding stimulus.
Or let's imagine a push-up: if practised with the hands resting on the mat in Eva, a greater tension of the pectorals and 'core' develops due to the slight instability induced by the balance pad.
Weight exercises also take on a different dimension, approaching the concept of functional training. Try practising a barbell lunge with the front limb resting on the mat, or side raises resting on the balance pads.
The need for the muscles to continually correct their position will give the training a boost.
