Foam rollers are used in many functional and holistic gymnastic activities aimed at wellness: pilates, yoga, muscle recovery, improving joint mobility, injury prevention.
By improving the flexibility and mobility of joints, they are useful for stretching exercises of the main muscles (legs, back, shoulders), myofascial release, reduction of muscle tension and contractures, and aiding recovery after training, also as a result of increased blood circulation due to self-massage.
They can be incorporated into Yoga and Pilates routines to improve balance, posture and stability or, conversely, to be used as destabilising supports.
They find application in specific disciplines such as running, cycling, swimming and weightlifting to prevent muscle stiffness and improve performance.
Foam Rollers are made from two different types of foam: Polyethylene, which is cheaper, and EVA (code 2503/1), much more valuable and finished, with an extremely smooth elastic coefficient.
The current model 2504 Foam Roller in grey polyethylene has recently been redesigned. It uses practically the same polyethylene as the previous blue model, but features an innovative double-cylinder structure that makes it more resistant and guarantees more consistent performance over time.
Compared to old blue foam rollers, especially when used for a long time, this new foam roller may initially feel stiffer. This is mainly due to the wear and tear experienced by used rollers, which tends to make them softer over time. In detail, polyethylene rollers soften for a few specific reasons:
- Continuous compression: use compresses the material, gradually decreasing its initial stiffness.
- Structural degradation: over time, wear and tear modifies the cell structure, contributing to natural softening.
- External factors: environmental conditions; heat, humidity, etc. can accelerate these processes.
The new 2504 polyethylene foam roller, thanks to its improved structure, will soften with use but offer greater stability over time. Its quality and strength make it less prone to flattening or deforming than previous models.
Dimensions: length 1000 mm, diameter 150 mm
