WTA Functional Training®

INSTRUCTOR COURSE The one constant element that unites all areas of physical training application, from aesthetic to performance training, is that these workouts focus too much on the end goal to be achieved and not on how to achieve it while respecting people's neuro-motor and health potential. In fact, both in the aesthetic goals of those who train (from slimming to muscular hypertrophy), and in the workouts aimed at conditioning the physical qualities of athletic training in sports (from strength to its derivatives, endurance, speed and power), too much attention is paid to the final target and not enough to muscular-skeletal/articular health and to increasing the person's neuro-motor potential. The WTA Method, puts the focus back on the individual and what he/she is capable of doing when training, MOVE in total fluidity and control of his/her body in all its parts. And to do this he starts with a clear and precise assessment of the person's neuro-motor and biomechanical abilities to trace his or her starting point, and from this then follows a scientific progression that starts with Articular Mobility and then gradually arrives at building neuro-motor skills and physical qualities. Regardless of what your starting level is and what your ultimate goal is, the WTA Method leads you to achieve it while respecting your physical structure and allowing you to express your neuro-motor potential to the fullest, leading you to achieve your Target and improve your postural and global health to live a full and rewarding life in every aspect!

SIDEA Corso Primitive Functional movement®

Primitive Functional Movement®

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Level 1
Primitive Functional Movement® is a free-body functional training system, which puts the individual back at the centre and, even before administering an external workload, makes sure to rebalance the postural set-up through an important work of freeing the joint fulcrums of human body movement (through global joint mobility together with joint stabilisation and body proprioception).
Primitive Functional Movement® is based on a series of sequences of movements performed mainly on the floor, so that the floor can be used as a means of developing the exercises in maximum safety and effectiveness. Perpetual contact with the floor, in fact, allows a continuous search for Articular Mobility and Joint Stabilisation (in particular of the Vertebral Column, Hip and Shoulder), fundamental for improving the Health conditions and Physical Capacities of any person, whether an Athlete or not. It is a training system that allows for optimal training of all the structural components that generate safe and effective movement of our Body: thus, not only the Muscles are involved, but also the Joints, Tendons, Ligaments, and last but not least the Connective tissue that constitutes the Fasciae and gives life to the Muscle Chains. The result is an improvement not only in Joint Mobility and Proprioception, but also in Coordination, Reactivity and thus Strength, Speed and Power.
The work on the ground also allows the little freedom of movement typical of standing work, so that the body is immediately in a state of stress, such that, by performing the exercises in an appropriate sequence, this system also allows excellent results in terms of improving both Aerobic and Muscular Endurance. Properly structured, Primitive Functional Movement® is a tool within everyone's reach, regardless of age, sex, or physical constitution, and is for all objectives, whether they be: Aesthetic (Weight Loss, Hypertrophy, Toning), Health (Rehabilitation and Prevention, Posture Improvement) or Functional (Athletic Preparation).
Primitive Functional Movement® allows you to regain total movement capabilities, invigorates the body, making it healthier and more functional!

Banner SIto SIDEA Corso Kettlebell training

Kettlebell Training

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Level 1 The kettlebell can rightly be considered the signature piece of equipment of Functional Training as it was the first to break the mould of traditional training with isotonic machines, dumbbells and barbells. The first WTA training course was on the kettlebell in July 2009.
But although it is the tool that condenses all the fundamental characteristics of Functional Training, the Kettlebell is also the one that has seen the most technical interpretations in recent years, many of which are unfortunately far removed from the scientific parameters dictated by the biomechanics of human body movement. This is why, in the eyes of sceptics, the kettlebell has often ended up being considered a 'useless' and 'dangerous' piece of equipment. The problem lies in the technical approximation of its use, because with the right technical knowledge (which only a trainer specialised in their use can have) the Kettlebell holds incredible potential in all aspects of physical training from injury prevention (especially of the shoulder, spine and knees) to general physical preparation (of those who in the gym seek aesthetics associated with the health and functionality of the joints), and specific training for all sports where the power of hip extension, stabilisation of the spine, and a strong and functional structure of the scapulohumeral girdle is required, both in terms of stability and in multiplanar movements.
These are in fact the two fundamental characteristics of Kettlebell Training: allowing joint decompression work associated with continuous stabilisation in the physiological joint location of the scapular girdle, in the three planes of movement (sagittal, frontal and transverse), with continuous support of the core and lower body base (hips and lower limbs);
Increasing neuro-muscular strength and power expression in hip extension combined with stabilisation of the knees, spine and scapular girdle.
Due to their shape, kettlebells, balls with a flat bottom and a handle at the top, allow the grip to be off-centre in relation to the mass. Kettlebell training quickly develops great grip, strength, endurance and muscular quality. Their shape also allows the safe development of ballistic movements by engaging all muscle chains in all planes of movement, thus improving joint health and posture, as well as rapidly increasing the athlete's coordination, speed and power!
These tools are very effective both in terms of athletic preparation and in improving posture and general physical conditioning.
The aim of the course is to train instructors in the safe and effective use of this extraordinary tool, so that it can be applied to the demands of athletes in the various disciplines (development of specific physical qualities) and the common gym user (aesthetic and wellness goals).

SIDEA Corso Clubs Training

Clubs Training

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Among the equipment for Functional Training, Clubs are certainly among those most misunderstood by many, both because of their shape, which in the modern era is not easily related to physical training, and because they are difficult to use when one does not have a solid technical basis, which only a trainer specialised in their use can have.
On the other hand, however, clubs, precisely because of their particular shape, have unique potential compared to all other training equipment, making them extremely versatile and effective in many aspects of physical training, from injury prevention (especially of the shoulder) to general physical preparation (of those who seek aesthetics associated with health and joint functionality in the gym), and specific to all sports where a strong and functional structure of the scapulohumeral girdle is required, both in terms of stability and in multiplanar movements (combat sports, throwing sports, basketball, volleyball, water polo, tennis, baseball, rugby, football goalkeeping, swimming, skiing, etc.).
This is in fact the fundamental characteristic of the clubs, to allow joint decompression work associated with continuous stabilisation in the physiological joint location of the scapular girdle, in the three planes of movement (sagittal, frontal and especially transverse), with continuous support of the core and the lower body base (hips and lower limbs).
Because of their shape, clubs (conical clubs) allow the grip to be off-centre from the mass. Manoeuvring the clubs quickly develops great grip, strength, endurance and muscular quality.
Their shape also allows the safe development of ballistic movements by engaging all muscle chains in all planes of movement, thus improving the health of joints (particularly the scapulohumeral-thoracic girdle) and posture, as well as rapidly increasing the coordination, speed and power of the person using them!
These tools are very effective both in terms of athletic preparation and in improving posture and general physical conditioning.
The aim of the course is to train instructors in the safe and effective use of these extraordinary tools, so that they can be applied to the demands of athletes in the various disciplines (development of specific physical qualities) and the common gym user (aesthetic and wellness goals).

Flying Suspension Training

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Of all the equipment for Functional Training, Flying is certainly the most versatile, as it by using simple principles for adjusting the workload, it is adaptable to every person regardless of their level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and objective (aesthetic, athletic preparation, health and wellness); due to its low weight (1 kg) and small size (it closes in a 20 cm x 20 cm bag), it is easily transportable anywhere, and thanks to its quick attachment system to any supporting structure (bar, wall bar, vertical pole, door, tree, etc.), it can be used anywhere (in the gym, outdoors, on sports fields, at home, in hotels, etc.).
But in addition to its versatility, Flying is characterised by being a valuable ally for free-body training, since, by allowing the use of one's own body overload, either totally or partially (depending on the percentage of load that I decide to use), Flying is the ideal tool: to set up a beginner who cannot yet perform free-body exercises, creating an initial postural and strength base; to increase the load of free-body training in advanced athletes, thanks to the instability provided by the suspension on the straps.
Flying is therefore definitely the first piece of equipment to be integrated into free-body training.
Flying Suspension Training is a training system that allows optimal training of all the structural components that generate safe and effective movement in the body: thus, not only the muscles are involved, but also the joints, tendons, ligaments and, last but not least, the connective tissue that forms the fascias and gives life to the muscle chains. The result is an improvement not only in Joint Mobility and Proprioception, but also in Coordination, Reactivity and thus Strength, Speed and Power. In fact, today Flying Suspension Training is one of the systems most widely used by elite athletes of all sports disciplines as a fundamental supplement to their athletic training.
A key feature of Flying suspension training is the continuous work on dynamic proprioception (the ability to perceive and manage one's own body during free movements in space) and the stability of the body in the correct neutral postural position. The result is a training system that always has an eye on a person's health and is accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, or physical constitution, and is for all goals, whether they are: Aesthetic (Weight Loss, Hypertrophy, Toning), Health (Rehabilitation and Prevention, Posture Improvement) or Functional (Athletic Preparation).
Flying Suspension Training allows you to regain your ability to control movement in a total and safe manner, invigorates the body, making it healthier, more harmonious and functional!

SIDEA Corso Flowbag Training

Flowbag Training®

INSTRUCTOR COURSE The Flowbag is a piece of equipment consisting of a bag containing a filler inside, which can carry either water or sand, depending on the type of exercise and training programme to be performed.
Thanks to its various external grips, it allows multiple exercises from traditional weight training to more dynamic Functional Training exercises, making it a very versatile tool with a wide variety of applications.
The main characteristic of the apparatus is to improve the proprioception and stabilisation ability of the practitioner, who is forced at every moment of the exercise trajectory to control the instability of the internal contents of the apparatus (water or sand).
The aim of the course is to train instructors in the safe and effective use of this extraordinary tool, so that it can be applied to the demands of athletes in the various disciplines (development of specific physical qualities) and the common gym user (aesthetic and wellness goals).
If you want to be strong you have to be stable and if you want to be stable you have to control instability, the optimal answer is Flowbag Training®!

SIDEA Corso Barbell & Bodyweight Training

Barbell & Bodyweight Training

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Strength is the basic physical quality that needs to be built up in any athlete before specialising in its derivatives, resistant strength, fast strength, explosive strength.
But Strength is also the basis to be built, together with Articular Mobility, for any person training for an aesthetic goal (hypertrophy, slimming, toning) or for health and well-being (postural and post-traumatic recovery).
A Functional Training instructor cannot be unfamiliar with the two main tools for strength development: one's own body and the barbell!
In fact, starting with the ability to control one's own body overload with floor and barbell and parallel bar suspension exercises, one can develop neuromotor coordination in conjunction with fibre hypertrophy, with a consequent adaptation of strength quality. We then move on to consolidate it by using the external load par excellence, the barbell.
The core of the Barbell & Bodyweight Training programme is the correct execution technique of the 10 fundamental strength exercises (5 free-body and 5 with the barbell), how to teach them through the preparatory exercises, and how to adapt them to each person (according to starting level, physical structure and specific goal), through the complementary exercises and variations.
The aim of the course is to train instructors in the safe and effective use of these extraordinary tools, so that they can be applied to the demands of athletes in the various disciplines (development of specific physical qualities), but also of the common gym user (aesthetic and wellness goals).

SIDEA Corso Tactical Functional Training®

Tactical Functional Training®

INSTRUCTOR COURSE
Starting from the final recipient of a training programme and analysing its characteristics and objectives, it is clear that the operational physical preparation of national security officers is quite different from the athletic preparation of any sports discipline.
The firefighter, the law enforcement officer, like the soldier operating in the theatre of war, is in a condition where at any given moment he may be called upon to intervene in operational contexts characterised by timeliness and effectiveness of action, so that he can save the lives of others as well as ensure that he brings his own home.
The athlete in any sports discipline uses athletic preparation to be able to express his or her full physical and technical potential on competition day. The law enforcement officer, the soldier, the fireman, does not have the day of the competition, every day he must be ready!

This brief analysis shows how fundamental it is to adopt a training system that leads to an increase in all physical qualities at the same time in such a way as to aim for a medium-to-high level of physical conditioning throughout the year, even though it is not possible to implement a Programming and Periodization typical of the various sports disciplines.

The operative must have: joint mobility to: rebalance his body and not wear and tear it out; prevent injuries and predispose him to the increase of other physical qualities; speed up the recovery phases; strength to: create a solid structure that withstands daily stress and from which to then express the other physical qualities; proprioceptivity, agility and reactivity to develop the ability to react to sudden events, a decisive quality for the successful outcome of operational activities; speed and power to: be incisive in operational actions; endurance to be able to lucidly and effectively prolong the numerous and cyclic operational engagements so as to condition the operator to act effectively under stress. Another characteristic of the operative is that during his day he does not have much time to devote to physical preparation, as he is continually called upon to perform his operational duties as well as technical training according to his speciality. So while it is crucial for an operative to have optimal conditioning of all his physical qualities, operational commitments themselves often limit the time and energy available to devote to physical preparation.

The solution is to optimise time and resources with a training system that: continuously trains all the necessary physical qualities without favouring one to the detriment of the others; allows rapid adaptation of physical qualities and an increase in levels, from the initial basic to the advanced, up to the maintenance phase throughout the operational season; allows the training of groups organised into functional units typical of operational specialities; allows the execution of programmes in any environmental context, without being forced to interrupt preparation for operational commitments.

Tactical Functional Training® is based on: the restoration of body awareness, a fundamental characteristic for an individual's postural recovery on which to then build all the physical qualities he or she needs; the recovery of joint mobility and dynamic proprioceptive control, so as to build body control in space; the increase in Strength as a basic physical quality from which to then derive Endurance, Speed and Power; the use of operational tools and protocols that train several physical qualities at the same time, thereby optimising time; the adaptability of work protocols to the conditions and level of the trainee; the use of operational tools that start from one's own body overload, then arrive at tools that make adaptability to all trainable physical qualities their fundamental technical characteristic: Flying Suspension Training, Kettlebells, Clubs, Flowbags, Med Balls, Speed Bands, Power Ropes, etc. These pieces of equipment also have the characteristic of being easily transportable and therefore usable practically anywhere. Tactical Functional Training® was created by an Italian Army Officer who tested it in the field on thousands of soldiers, leading to a specific method for the physical preparation of operators who must have all their physical qualities trained throughout the year and must be able to work under conditions of high psycho-physical stress without being subjected to injuries during training.

Today, Tactical Functional Training® is used with great success by many military forces (special departments of the military) and police forces in various countries around the world.

SIDEA Corso Combat Sports Functional Training®

Combat Sports Functional Training®

INSTRUCTOR COURSE Athletic training for athletes and practitioners of martial arts and combat sports regardless of level, whether competitive or amateur, is fundamental both in the prevention of trauma and injury and in improving the general and specific physical qualities of the discipline practised.
But very often the focus of traditional physical training is placed more on increasing physical performance and less on the athlete's physical health.
In fact, if you focus on increasing conditional capacities (Strength, Speed, Power, Endurance), without work on Joint Mobility and the execution of Global Body Movements, for an athlete who is pushed to the limit, injury is always just around the corner.

Combat Sports Functional Training® is the optimal answer for functional physical training in martial and combat disciplines as it allows you to build strong, responsive, fast, explosive and resistant athletes while preserving them over time through combined work on posture and joint mobility.
Starting with the scientific notions of athletic training, the course is developed with practice on the major equipment of Functional Training with constant reminders of athletic gestures and the specific physical qualities of Combat Sports.
Ample space is devoted to the Periodization and Programming of Combat Sports Functional Training® as specific athletic preparation.
Combat Sports Functional Training® enables the training of highly specialised trainers who are able to bring every athlete or Combat Sports and Martial Arts practitioner to the fullest expression of his or her neuro-motor and performance potential, as well as improving his or her postural and overall health to have a longer and more rewarding sports career.
