Q: Simone, why the name 'THE PROJECT' and what characterises this new initiative?
My experience in the fitness world stems from CrossFit®, which I explored and developed with Progetto CrossFit® Faenza. I have always admired Greg Glassman's original idea: a conditioning and strengthening programme designed to give complete well-being, based on functional, varied, high-intensity movements. But the most valuable part has always been the community that is born in the gym. THE PROJECT is my dream of creating a space that is much more than a place for training: it is a centre of aggregation where each person finds support, motivation and the right tools to improve all-round, both physically and mentally.

Q: What activities do you carry out?
We offer a wide range of activities, many inspired by the CrossFit® experience, and others designed to support and enhance overall wellbeing. We have a weight room, Functional Bodybuilding, Postural, YogaMobility, specific training for girls, running classes, Crossfight, Krav Maga and a children's programme. THE PROJECT offers group classes and customised programmes built around the needs of each individual participant. Outdoor activities and participation in events and competitions are also important: we are not just looking for performance, but motivation and personal well-being.

Q: So, a multidisciplinary approach?
Absolutely. We have created a well-maintained, inclusive and complete environment. Although I love Spartan training, I believe that the quality and comfort of the environment is part of the experience. Here you can find one-to-one training, small group training, as well as a variety of equipment such as kettlebells, ropes, rings, medicine balls and large areas to move around freely. We consider the concept of hybrid training that combines functional, bodybuilding, powerlifting and endurance, with the aim of maximising results and optimising training for each person.

D: Cow do you see the evolution of fitness?
fitness is becoming more and more inclusive and comprehensive, moving from pure functional training to a hybrid approach that meets the needs of everyone, whether an athlete or exerciser. It is essential to balance strength, mobility, endurance and coordination to meet diverse physical challenges. Physical training today is no longer just about muscle strengthening, but also about all-round movement.

D: The Project seems to promote a more 'analogue' approach, in contrast to the growing trend of digitisation and connection in the fitness world. What is your position on this?  Increasing digitisation in daily life and sport has pushed many people to seek more authentic and 'disconnected' experiences when it comes to physical activity. There is a widespread desire to detach oneself from screens and return to experiencing the body directly and without digital intermediaries. The Project wants to be a place of "digital detox," a space where the individual can focus on the present moment, on tangible and real experiences. Our vision of wellness is a response to the needs of the modern world, characterised by sedentariness, overeating and other lifestyle issues. Digitalisation has added a new dimension to sedentariness, where the mind itself can become inactive, submerged in constant connection. For us, wellness means regaining balance through movement, without distractions, and cultivating psychophysical health in an authentic and humane context

Q: Does THE PROJECT therefore promote free spaces to train movement?
Yes, in addition to CrossFit®, we wanted a space to train movement in all its forms. It is not just about exercises on machines, but about reactivating motor patterns that are fundamental for complete well-being. The training includes high intensity multi-planar movements, with or without overloads, to stimulate every aspect of fitness: from joint mobility to balance, from agility to coordination. Much of psychophysical well-being is built on this foundation.

Q: What goals do you have for the future?
My dream is to create a community that shares a passion for physical well-being and an active lifestyle. I would like THE PROJECT to be not only a place to work out, but also a space for inspiration, where people find motivation and support to achieve their goals, always putting wellness and health at the centre.
