ECOGYM PREMIUM 1 cm - Technical flooring made of double-layer recycled rubber
EcoGym is a flooring made from recycled rubber granules. The main characteristic of this type of flooring is its ability to absorb the fall of free weights; barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells.
The Premium version of the EcoGym is distinguished by white speckling, which improves the aesthetics of the surface by making it less prone to fingerprints, dust and cleaning difficulties, common problems with single-colour black recycled rubber tiles.
- High shock absorption capacity: excellent comfort during floor exercises.
- Excellent grip and stability, even when there is sweat on the floor.
- Exceptional mechanical strength, with fewer incisions and cuts than other floor coverings.
- Higher brightness and less susceptible to fingerprints than single-colour black rubber granule tiles.
Granulated recycled rubber
The ability to absorb shocks, the excellent comfort during floor exercises and the excellent grip even when sweating on the floor are a direct consequence of the ultra-fine granular composition. The use of recycled rubber not only represents a virtuous re-use of used material, but also has a positive impact on the cost of production.
It is important to note that shock-absorbing capacity must be properly considered when flooring is used as protection for an existing floor. A few millimetres of rubber cannot completely absorb every type of shock. The force resulting from the fall of a barbell loaded with tens of kilos will always be partly transferred to the floor underneath.
Double layer: above fine granules, below coarse granules
The coupling of a layer made up of agglomerates of coarse granules with a layer made up of finer granules makes it possible to reconcile the need for maximum shock-absorption capacity with the need to be able to train on a smooth, compact surface that is less prone to crumbling and dirt pick-up.
White stippling and jigsaw interlocking
Anyone who has had the opportunity to train on a floor made of recycled rubber granules will have noticed that, despite the many qualities just described, this solution has two very obvious limitations:
- Single-coloured black tiles are prone to fingerprints, accumulate dust and are difficult to clean.
- Recycled rubber granules are subject to high thermal deformation. Variations in temperature can lead to the formation of gaps between tiles and cause them to spread apart.
To counteract these limitations, EcoGym Premium features white dots and a jigsaw puzzle.
White speckling makes the surface less susceptible to marks and blemishes from dust, as well as increasing the brightness of the area. The jigsaw joint limits the occurrence of gaps resulting from the thermal deformation of the recycled rubber and eliminates the spacing between tiles caused by the action of users, especially when the tiles are laid as islands, i.e. not against the walls.
Complies with Regulation 1907/2006 REACH. Exercise equipment that can also be used by children under 14 years of age.
Reg. 1907/2006 REACH concerns the evaluation of chemicals; it aims to ensure the highest level of protection of human health and the environment.
Tested in accordance with EN 71-1, EN 71-2 and EN 71-3: mechanical safety, flammability and migration of chemical elements. Also suitable for schools, baby gyms, children’s play areas and motor skills play areas.

Compared to normal recycled rubber flooring, EcoGym does not release high rubber residues from use.
Jigsaw interlocking: easy-to-install tiles without joints
Among the various solutions, we recommend the jigsaw puzzle tiles in 10 mm thickness. In addition to the best value for money, i.e. price and protective capacity, they are easy to assemble and trim with a cutter.
The precision of the jigsaw joint holds the tiles together, also allowing for the effective creation of rubberized islands. The absence of deviations, typical of normal straight-edged tiles, often characterised by bevelled edges, reduces the presence of joints; a receptacle for dirt.
Other EcoGym features
EcoGym is produced without the use of dangerous substances ref. CEE 76/769 and without the use of adhesives containing formaldehyde ref. EN 717/1.
The tiles measure 980 x 980 mm, the interlocking installation and the trimming of the joints result in a small dimensional loss. As an indication, to calculate the number of tiles required, 20% can be added to the sqm of the area: e.g. 30 sqm + 20% = 36 tiles.
As far as cleaning is concerned, it is sufficient to vacuum and then wash the floor with water and detergent in minimal quantities. White deposits or footprints may occur due to the close presence of dusty areas. In these cases, scrubbing brushes with a built-in sponge are useful. For areas larger than 150 m2 we recommend the use of floor washers with rotating brushes that can wash and collect dirty water.
WARNING: due to the production processes used, these tiles may show variations in reflectivity, this means that the shade of black is the same, but if looked at from certain particular angles where there are reflections these may look different from each other.
